North Yorkshire Under 11's 6-A-Side Soccer Tournament Champions
Brackenfield School are just one tournament away from playing at Wembley after winning the North Yorkshire Under 11’s 6 –a-side Soccer Tournament in York on Saturday. The competition consisted of 60 teams from around the county with the top eight teams qualifying for the final from district tournaments. Brackenfield had earlier won the Harrogate District Tournament.
In blustery conditions, Brackenfield scored a total of 11 goals in four matches whilst only conceding one. They played exceptionally well in the final to win 2-0.
Head of Games at Brackenfield, Mr. Olesqui, was delighted with the team’s performance. “I am so pleased for the boys. They have played to a very high standard all year and have trained and practiced hard to achieve this reward. They have played many very strong teams in this tournament which illustrates how well they have done. This is a wonderful achievement.”
Brackenfield will now play in the Northern Finals in March. The reward for winning this will be a trip to Wembley for the National Final, this would be a day to remember.
