PART TIME TEACHING ASSISTANT

Brackenfield School is Harrogate’s only stand-alone prep school for 2-11 year olds. We are a thriving and happy family school of 150 pupils with an enviable reputation.  

Overall Role: To support the school to continue delivering a wonderful education in our 4 Mission Areas, underpinned by our 6 core values. 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Teaching pupils to read through listening to them read aloud and promoting reading skills 
  • Keep up to date with pupils’ targets and ILPP’s (if relevant) and, in liaison with the class teacher, respond to the learning needs of each individual pupil 
  • Prepare classroom for lessons – organise classroom/ lesson resources as required by class teacher 
  • Keep classroom organised and in good order to create an effective and pleasant learning environment 
  • Assist teacher in the management and recording of assessment data as requested 
  • Create displays within the classroom and around school as requested  
  • Assist in all school events and activities such as school productions, Sports Day, Open Days, School Trips, House activity days 
  • Supervise children whilst on duty at playtimes as per the school rota 
  • Teaching Assistants, along with all staff members, are expected to be flexible and respond to the staffing needs of the school, for example, requests for cover of absent staff in other departments. 
  • Be a relentlessly positive member of the team

LEVEL 2/3 NURSERY PRACTITIONER (EYFS)  

The Nursery at Brackenfield is a successful and thriving child-led nursery for children aged 2 to 4 years old. Part of the Forfar Education family of schools and nurseries, we offer a lovely setting with highly experienced staff and an excellent reputation.

Due to increased pupil enrolment, we are currently looking to recruit a caring and enthusiastic nursery practitioner to work on a part-time basis within our dedicated and friendly nursery team. We offer a rewarding working environment, encouraging our staff to continue their professional development and have active input in the day to day running of the nursery.

CLEANING OPERATIVE

Overall Role :

We are looking for a part time Cleaning Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our school is cleaned to the highest standard, making it a pleasant and safe environment. The main duties will include:

  • Cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping
  • Stocking and supplying designated areas
  • Emptying bins
  • Restroom cleaning
  • Keeping our school looking and feeling clean, tidy and inviting

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and conscientious individual with a keen eye for detail.

Working Hours: Working 25 hours per week Monday – Friday, flexible working patterns will be considered.

Previous Experience: Cleaning – 1 year (preferred)
